
CLASSES
Theatre I
Theatre I is an overview of Theatre. Students explore both performance and technical aspects of theatre and get hands on experience in both. This class is meant for students who have little to no theatre experience and want to explore theatre in a general sense. This class satisfies the required FIne Arts credit needed to graduate.
Advanced Theatre I
Theatre II
Advanced Theatre I is an advanced theatre class that explored theatre at a deeper level and focuses primarily on the performance side of theatre. Students will be required to perform in two shows outside of class a year (the Freshman Showcase in the Fall and the Advanced Theatre I Play in the Spring). This class is meant for incoming freshman that have completed 3 years of theatre in middle school. Students will need a recommendation from their middle school director to be placed in this class.
Theatre II is an upper-level Theatre class for those wishing to pursue further theatre studies after Theatre I. This class still explores both performance and technical elements of theatre, but has a primary focus on performance. Students with explore different theatre styles and advance their acting skills through in class exercises and performance.
Theatre III-IV
Theatre III-IV is an upper-level Theatre class for those wishing to pursue further theatre studies after Theatre I. This class explores performance styles on a deeper level. Students will explore different acting styles and directing through in class exercises and performance. This is an advanced class ad will require more work than lower level theatre courses.
Tech Theatre I
Tech Theatre I is an overview of all technical elements involved in a theatre production. Students will participate in hands on work in class related to set construction, lighting, sound, prop making, costumes, and theatrical design. Students will be required to complete a small amount of lab hours outside of class as a part of this class.
Tech Theatre II-III
Tech Theatre II-III is an advanced technical theatre class that offers students the ability to focus their technical theatre path into one of more area of technical theatre. Students will get hands on work in all areas of technical theatre. Students will be required to complete lab hours outside of class as a part of this class.
Production Theatre I-III
Production Theatre is the highest level of theatre that students can take. This is an audition only class. Students will hone their theatre skills and create several performances throughout the year. There is an outside of class commitment for this class that is substantial. Students will be required to participate in the Holiday show, UIL One Act Play, and a Spring Showcase.
